Furthermore
these beaches are located at less then two hours from San Jose
(the country´s capital), allowing rapid enjoyment of the
ocean breeze and the great pacific sun.
Playa
Agujas, in the outlet of Río Agujas , is a small beach
with smaller waves, except for the further southeast point where
the high tide and the big waves allow surfing. The community surrounding
the beach though small, maintain the beach very clean, there is
a small "pulpería" (food store) on the beach
and occasionally you can rent horses, yet there not many facilities
for tourists.
The
sand is thick and a bit rocky not making it most comfortable for
a barefoot walk nor a layout on the beach, yet the gentle tide
makes it a perfect place for children and swimming.
